MERCER COUNTY’S WINTER WONDERLAND OF ACTIVITIES COMMENCES THIS NOVEMBER
Guests to Enjoy Santa, Light Displays and Yuletide Celebrations
MERCER COUNTY, Pa. -- November, 2010 -- Mercer County will kick off a celebration of winter activities starting this November. Visitors to the area can commence the yuletide season with visits from Santa, light displays and holiday parades.
Capture the fantasy of the holiday season at Tara-A Country Inn Spectacular Christmas Display as beautiful decorations bring the joy of the season to all who visit. Featuring thousands of white lights, the sparkling grounds welcome visitors to enjoy the warmth of the fireplaces and spectacular decorations within the walls of Tara. Each year, mid November through mid January, multitudes of trees and garlands are hand-decorated with loving care and are ornamented around the inn. The Greenville Christmas Parade on Main St. in Greenville, Pa. will feature a light display, visit from Santa, carolers, hot cocoa and other holiday treats. The parade will kick off in Riverside Park and will end in Greenville’s Central Park. The event takes place Dec. 4 beginning at 5 p.m. Admission is free.
Enter a world of make believe at Kraynaks Santa’s Christmasland on East State St. in Hermitage where visitors can see more than 85 decorated Christmas trees and animated holiday figurines. Life-sized snowman and other magical holiday creatures are sure to make your whole family feel the warmth of the holiday. The 300-foot long lane filled with lively holiday décor has made Santa’s Christmasland become a family tradition. The store will be closed on Thanksgiving and is free of charge.
Grove City’s Memorial Park will host Christmas in the Park featuring up to 50 lighted holiday themed displays for drive-by viewing as well as antique displays from the George Junior Republic with themes from the 1950s and 1960s. Donations will be accepted at the end of the display which is located on 500 Memorial Dr. from Nov. 23 to Jan. 1, 2011.
The Annual Christmas Tree Tour at the Hermitage Historical Society Stewart House is comprised of more than 22 Victorian Christmas trees ranging from 6 and a half feet tall to more than 11 feet tall. The house was built in 1868 and is completely decorated from first floor to third floor. Donations are accepted and the tours are available on Dec. 3 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Dec. 4-5 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Dec. 10 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Dec. 11-12 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
