A Century of Romance
“Buhl Mansion was literally built on romance. Steel baron Frank Buhl built this Romanesque castle in 1896 as a wedding present for his wife, Julia”, states General Manager, Laura Ackley. A century later renowned entrepreneurs and philanthropists Jim and Donna Winner saved the abandoned mansion from ruin and began another labor of love. After millions of dollars and months of restoration, this grand landmark, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, now celebrates its 10th anniversary as a luxury bed and breakfast and a world-class spa. The inn continues its celebrated tradition of romance by specializing in fairytale “castle weddings” and romantic getaway weekends.
