MERCER COUNTY COMMUNITY FESTIVALS CELEBRATE THE FINAL WEEKS OF SUMMER Visitors to Enjoy Classic Cars, Festival Foods, Live Music and Outdoor Activities
MERCER COUNTY, Pa. – August 1, 2011 –Although summer may be winding down, Mercer County's event calendar is full of family-fun festivals that allow visitors to capture the essence of the season and enjoy the last few weeks of summer.
Bring the family and enjoy all of the activities at the Lake Arthur Regatta at Moraine State Park in Portersville, Pa. on August 6-7. This year's regatta promises to be bigger and better than ever with land, air, water and children's activities. Enjoy bands, rides, crafts, food vendors, and Saturday evening fireworks display.
Celebrate summer's bounty at the Harvest Festival on August 13 in Volant, Pa. Enjoy a corn roast, ice cream social, antique tractors, farmer's market, hayride and more. Admission to the Harvest Festival is free and the festival lasts from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The 9th Annual Sharon Car Cruise in downtown Sharon, Pa. will feature a classic car cruise and show on August 13. Families can enjoy outdoor live entertainment, great food, shopping, artist bazaar, craft show, cash prizes and giveaways. Car registration is $10 and admission is free to spectators. Check-in is between 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and the show ends at 5 p.m.
Add some excitement to your last few days of summer at the 134th annual Transfer Harvest Home Fair in Transfer, Pa. August 22-27. Highlights of the fair include a horse show, mud drags, demolition derby, tractor pulls, live music and a wide variety of fair foods. General admission is free. There is a $2/vehicle, per night suggested parking donation. Admission is charged for track events.
